About:

The Emergency First Aid at Work Course is a combination of online study and in-person practical training. This certificate is designed for low-risk jobs and is required for anybody seeking a SIA licence. This training covers key subjects such as controlling bleeding, dealing with seizures and treating burns and scalds.

 

Participants receive practical insights into first aid priorities and actions. This certificate is valid for three years, making it a worthwhile investment for anybody over the age of 16 who wants to play an important part in delivering prompt aid during an emergency at work. It is important to note that this course only teaches the fundamentals of first aid and does not qualify you to work as a first aider.

OVER THE AGE OF 16

All participants must be over the age of 16. This age limit ensures that attendees are mature enough to comprehend the course material and perform the practical aspects of first aid effectively.

    • Participants will learn how to assess and respond to situations where an adult is unresponsive and not breathing.

    • Training will cover the proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to enhance life-saving measures.

    • Learners will be equipped with the knowledge and techniques to assist adults who are unresponsive but still breathing.

    • The course will provide insights into recognizing and offering aid to individuals suffering from shock or internal bleeding.

    • Participants will understand how to effectively manage situations involving an adult experiencing a seizure.

    • The course will cover the appropriate actions to take when an adult is choking, ensuring participants can respond promptly and effectively.

    • Participants will be familiarized with the processes involved in documenting and reporting workplace accidents.

    • The course will include information on safely managing substances that may pose health risks in the workplace, in compliance with COSHH regulations.

    • Learners will be taught how to respond to adults experiencing burns, covering initial first aid measures.

    • Participants will learn systematic approaches to assess the condition of an injured or ill person.

    • The course will cover techniques for ongoing observation and care of a casualty to ensure their well-being.

    • Learners will understand the proper procedures and channels for seeking external assistance when necessary.

    • The course will provide insights into handling situations involving electrical incidents, ensuring safety and effective response.
